Well, a lot has changed since my last update. I went to "bootcamp" for work, which consisted of me living in a hotel in Connecticut for a month of intense training. The internet was horrible and I couldn't get a signal in my room so I didn't play a single hand of poker for over a month. After bootcamp ended, I spent almost a week in Michigan with my girlfriend for some much needed R&R. Friday I moved into my new apartment in Louisville, KY. I love it so far. The place is really nice and I flipped a coin with my roomate and won the master bedroom/bath. No internet here yet, but I can steal it from a neighbor until Thursday when the cable guy is supposed to come. Can't wait to get the furniture moved in here and buy a new TV. I'm thinking of mounting my smaller LCD tv in my room and buying a really nice 50" for the living room. I have a ton of cash right now because of living in the hotel for a month with zero living expenses. Pretty amazing to just bank your paychecks + bonuses for 6 weeks. On top of that I got my Neteller money finally, so that's an even bigger bonus. I need to start looking into some investments.
As for poker, I played a little while tonight. Made about 100 bucks or so playing pretty straightforward, ABC TAG poker. Had 2 coolers/beats where I lost with AA vs QQ for a 100 pot and AA vs some random junk like 87os all in pre for 40 or so. Pretty happy to still turn a nice profit though. That's all for now. Looking forward to putting some hands in this month after work and on weekends. I had been playing 100nl, but I'm starting out at 50nl for now to get a rhythm back. Since I have plenty of money now, I won't be withdrawing and I can build a bankroll to hopefully move up to 1-2 or so in a few months.

Hotter than the sun
I am running better than I ever have in my poker career. I think I was due, because of the Sklansky simulations I've done show how far under my expectation I have been over the past 2 years. Well I am drawing much closer to the even line as far as Sklansky bucks go.
I had another great day today. Here are stats and graph.

This brings my stats and totals for the last 10 days up to something like this:

Still 12 tabling 50nl. My FTP roll is well over 3k now. I might just take today's profits and go buy a Wii. I need to call some local stores to see if they have any in stock. I also have around 1200 sitting around on UB that I should probably withdraw.

Last 7 Days at the Tables...
have been awesome.
Got a couple hundred in rakeback this morning. I've been 12-tabling again and I love it. I want to move up to 100nl but I don't know about it because I'd have 1200 of my ~2800 on FTP at the tables just to start the session. So the choice is either start with fewer tables or wait until I build the BR. I think I'm going to continue building my BR for now. I might take out a few hundred bucks to buy a WII soon. I played it at a buddy's place and it was awesome.

Good day at the tables

Stayed up pretty much all night. Played about 7 hours and made just under 10 buyins. I've been playing on my laptop lately. I never liked playing on it very much because it's just one screen. That has completely changed. With the widescreen setup I can play 12 tables very nicely. So I've been doing that the past few days and it is going really well. The top graph is just from last night. Including rakeback that's about 11 buyins. I admit that I ran well and sucked out a few times. There was one really awful stretch that I lost 3 or 4 all in pots in about 15 minutes, but I recovered from that nicely.

Stats:
Hands: 8,743
VPIP: 17.5
PFR: 14.0
AF: 3.64
ptBB/100: 7.51
Amount won: $656.85
I had been on about a 5-6 buyin downswing before these good session so it feels really good to make a strong comeback. Not sure about taking shots at 100nl just yet because I really like playing 12 tables, and I don't have the BR on FTP right now for 12 tables of 100nl.

Finals (and links for MrSpeed)
Finals are hitting sooooooo hard this week. 20 page paper was due tuesday with a 20 minutes presentation. 30 minute presentation on wednesday. 15-25 page research paper due thursday. VBA "group" final project due tomorrow which nobody in my group has started yet. I made the mistake of doing all of the projects in the past because I can do them in 1/10th of the time as the rest of the group, so now they just expect me to do it. I'll just do it tonight so I can go out and celebrate being done with school.

April Stats (a little early)

Decent month I guess. Didn't get many hands in, but at least I won about 15 buyins. Rakeback will be another 130 or so. I got this program that analyzes hands to determine how you faired compared to your equity. Over just the last month I have won $195 less than what I should have. Well I'm winning 5.5PTbb/100 anyway playing 8 tables so I guess I shouldn't complain.

Flying V of Variance

Wow that pretty much sucked for about 45 minutes. Haven't ran that bad that quickly in awhile. I got stacked once by bad play, but the other big pots I lost were either big suckouts or pretty bad coolers.
A few hands:
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1034115
I floated this guy with a gutterball. Was planning on taking the pot away on the turn, but then I hit. This is one of the worst suckouts I've had in a 300bb pot. He gets it all in the middle with middle pair and draw to a split pot and the board trips up. Man that hurt pretty bad.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1034119
By far the worst hand I played of the session. This hand was probably within 5 minutes of the previous hand so I was definitely tilted. Absolutely horrible. I raise with almost no fold equity where I'm only getting called by a hand that beats me. J9 was my nemesis this session. On 3 separate occassions I flopped TPGK when J9 flopped top 2 pair.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1034126
Full house over full house. If the board doesn't pair on the river I honestly think I can fold this. Pretty bad play by him to not get my whole stack.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1034130
Top pair and OESFD, come on baby come on baby... nope
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1034134
One thing that I've been thinking about is value betting thinner. I think this is a really good example of getting maximum value out of top pair. In the past I might've check/called this river, and if he checks behind I am missing value because obviously he is calling river bets with weaker hands.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1034138
Value bet with trips, top kicker gone horribly wrong. I really hate the way this guy played his hand, so many cards can kill his action. Literally the only card hit that could cost me my stack.
Session started off terrible with that 5.5 buyin downswing in like 45 minutes, but I stayed composed (other than the KJo hand) and grinded it all back and then some.

Solid First Session Back
Been awhile. Haven't played too much poker recently with school finishing up. Getting back into it over the past few days has been nice. Just playing solid poker for the most part 8 tabling 50nl on FTP right now. I'm gonna put UB on hold because the game selection isn't there for 100nl which I hope to be moving up to soon. I have the BR for it spread across the sites, I just like to have the BR for it on each site. I've been trying to withdraw money for the past 3 weeks and it has been a struggle with no positive results yet. I should be getting my tax return soon which will be a lifesaver.
I've pretty much only played 2 days of poker recently. The first day was I think 2 days ago and it went really well.
A few hands from the session:
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1034091
Pretty standard call of a min 3-bet. I really like my full pot value bet on the river.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1034097
The games are getting pretty damn good again. They were super fishy on this day.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1034101
Did I already say the games were fishy? Sometimes it just doesn't go your way though.
Overall I played really nitty. The game was so easy I didn't have to put too much pressure on people.

Running better (and St. Thomas)
I think it could be because I just booked a trip to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands for Spring Break with my girlfriend and two of our friends. We're staying right on the beach in what seems like a nice resort. I'm really excited to go.
I played 2 sessions today. The first one I went down a little over 2 buyins at first with some bad plays, including a very large (and poor) bluff against a guy who played 45/25 and never folded a hand. He never had to because he always had the goods, every hand, for almost 2 hours. I left that table because he was getting on my nerves, directly on my left, and he was holding over me pretty bad.
I put a bad beat on one guy at the tail end of the first session when I cracked his kings with a lower pocket pair on an 8-high flop. That put me well into the green for the session.
Here are those stats:
Profit: $63.25
VPIP: 18.15
PFR%: 14.25
AF: 2.99
Hands: 1,972
ptBB/100: 3.21
The second session I played was very brief. I ran really hot except for 1 hand and got paid off several times where I probably shouldn't have. I did try one bluff on the turn with a small pair, but the guy hit top pair and called me down. I almost fired another bullet all-in on the river, but he didn't have that much of a stack and I think he would've called anyway.
Here are the stats for the night session:
Profit: $100.3
VPIP: 18.3
PFR%: 13.39
AF: 2.78
Hands: 224
ptBB/100: 44.78

edit:
I almost forgot February's stats. Keep in mind that I got a late start and didn't play that many hands for how many tables I play.

Grossest session of my poker career
It always happens on the days when I have a lot of time to play too... dammit. I'm contemplating playing really late tonight to try to put a dent in this hole I'm in. I finished all my work early so I could play pretty late if I wanted to. I felt myself starting to tilt a little bit at the end. I need to stop playing HU when my tables break because I really feel like I'm at a disadvantage playing 8 tables and it's difficult to play a decent HU game. Not to mention that all these clowns will win 1 decent pot and immediately leave.

Soooo you might be thinking it is a bad idea to get it all in with Jacks this deep, but I can rationally explain my play. So I had been opening a pretty good range of hands at this table, and I have a history with bibl0, a decent LAG. I know that he will 3bet me very light, which is exactly what I think happened. The caller in between didn't bother me at all because his VP$P was over 65%. I was a bit surprised when he cold-called my 4bet preflop, which might set off alarm bells, but this guy was so bad that he would've raised with any premium pairs. So the flop looks pretty harmless to me and I am perfectly happy getting all my money in there. Oh man was I wrong.... and the river goes quads just for shits and giggles.

This hand is just another bad beat, but this is how aggro the table had been playing. I won a total of 5 hands at this table out of 150. Keep in mind these are 6 handed tables where you should be winning 17% of the hands on average at least (maybe more for how aggro I play).

I got QQ, KK, and AA a total of 10 times in my session. The biggest pot I won was 10 bucks. I lost 50% of these pots. Definitely time to take a breather, maybe watch some HSP, and ESPN showed a few episodes of the US Poker Open or whatever it's called that I need to watch before they get deleted off the DVR.
