End of the break

Well it has been awhile folks. My first blog entry of 2007. A lot has happened since the last one. For one, I went to Brazil for 17 days. I won't go into too much detail, but I spent about 8 days in Rio de Janeiro and then about 10 in Sao Paulo. The internet was always way too shaky to play, so I didn't. When I got back, the whole Neteller debacle happened (where the US gov't is currently holding $2,000 of my money). Since then I hadn't really had the motivation to play.

In other news, I almost took a job with CR as the new admin. I submitted a resume and had a phone interview with Zimba. He asked a few questions that bothered me though about a permanent position after a few months. For those that don't know, I'm 3 months from getting my MBA, and that position with CR (as fun as it would be) would not make use of my education and would not pay what I am worth. I was honest with Zimba and told him that I would not be comfortable committing to this position, and that I would understand if he chose to go with someone else. They ended up hiring TrevRob within a week or two. Congratulations to him!

This brings us more up to date. FTP released it's beta version. I am sooooooooooo glad they finally did this. I have two 17" monitors which allow me to play 8 table with a decent amount of overlap, but the time in poker that I made the most money was 8tabling on party with no overlap. So I've been playing the past few days on FTP, 8 tables at a time, and it had been up and down until today. I'll post my results for the last few days.

It's been a little swingy. On the days that I lost I took a few bad beats. The day I lost almost 2 buyins I ran terribly. Today I've been running pretty damn hot. I'm still not getting the big pps that I should for how many hands I've played, but when I flop sets they are getting paid off. My biggest losing hands so far are JJ, AQo, and AA. So really I haven't been running THAT good. My aces have been cracked with the best hand everytime but once. I got in against a flopped set in a 3bet pot preflop for like 30.

One more note... I played against Jon "50k challenge" Miller at one of my tables. We only played one significant pot where I got him to lay down Jacks preflop when I 4bet him preflop with A high. Sorry Jon, maybe next time buddy... :)
